How do I get my Saint Mary's ID card and how do I get it replaced?
Students needing a Saint Mary's ID card can get one by visiting the Office of Student Involvement on the second floor of the Student Center.
Faculty and staff needing a Saint Mary's ID card can get one by visiting the Human Resources in the Facilities Building.
You will need to show government-issued identification (driver's license, passport) before a Saint Mary's ID card will be created for you. You should obtain your initial Saint Mary's ID card within your first week on campus.
If you need a new Saint Mary's ID card because:
the photo on your old card is no longer visible (a common problem after numerous swipes through the residence hall detex card readers and dining hall visits), please bring the card with you to the Office of Student Involvement or Human Resources for a free replacement.
the mag stripe (for building access) on the card can no longer be read, please bring the card with you to the Office of Student Involvement or Human Resources for a free replacement.
your old card has broken, please bring the pieces with you to the Office of Student Involvement or Human Resources for a replacement. Students will need to bring over 50% of their broken card with them to not be charged a $20.00 replacement fee.
your old card was lost or stolen, students will need to pay a $20.00 replacement fee before the card is replaced.
The $20.00 replacement fee will be charged to your student account when the new ID card is created. The Office of Student Involvement is unable to accept other forms of payment for ID cards.
If your ID card is lost/stolen after the Office of Student Involvement or Human Resources closes for the day or during a weekend, students need to visit the Security Building and request a temporary missing card from the dispatcher. The temporary card may be used to eat in the dining hall for a limited time or until the ID card is replaced. The temporary card will not work for building access.
New ID cards will not be made for unnecessary reasons, such as not liking the picture that is on the card.
Faculty and staff do not need to pay for replacement ID cards.
