Yellow Vermillion turning slowly crimson
says another day of light is done.
One last warm breath flames forth from the sun
singeing stratus highways in the west.
A quiet wash of indigo unfurls
diamonds broadcast from the rim of time.
Then thunderless flashes shutter in the south
catching stills of stately clipper ships
sliding through the sluices in the night
making for a canvas-fresh tomorrow.
