Welcome to BelleAire at Saint Mary's College!

BelleAire, the wireless network at Saint Mary's College, is available in several locations on campus, including the Noble Family Dining Hall, the Student Center, Madeleva Hall, Cushwa-Leighton Library, the Science building, Spes Unica, Reignbeaux and Stapleton Lounges in Le Mans Hall, the center section of Regina Hall, and the lounge areas of Opus Hall. McCandless Hall and Regina Hall also have wireless access in the residence areas.

To connect to BelleAire, your computer must meet the following requirements:

  • A supported operating system:

    • Mac OS X version 10.2 or later
    • Windows XP Professional Edition
    • Windows Vista Business Edition
    • Windows Vista Ultimate Edition
    • Windows 7 Professional Edition
    • Windows 7 Ultimate Edition

  • A wireless card capable of connecting with any of the following standards:

    • 802.11b
    • 802.11g
    • 802.11n

To connect to BelleAire:

  1. Open a web broswer (Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer). You should see a notice that you are being redirected to the network authentication page. Please wait while the page is redirected.

    • You may see an error that there is a problem with the security certificate or that the security certificate was signed by an unknown authority. If you see this error, click Continue. (This message is normal and you may see it every time you open a web browser to connect to BelleAire.)

    • If you see invalid certificate errors or secure connection failed errors when trying to access BelleAire with Firefox, please refer to the instructions at /~resnet/resnetfaq/FFSecurityCert.html for steps on how to resolve the issue.

  2. The Saint Mary's College BelleAire Login Page will appear.

  3. Type in your Saint Mary's username and password in the appropriate fields.

    If you do not have a Saint Mary's username and password, you can click on the "Guest Access" button at the bottom of the page, but you may encounter some network restrictions because we cannot identify you on the network.

  4. Click Continue.

  5. You will see a web page stating that you have been successfully logged on the network. You may now use the wireless connection to check your e-mail or access the Internet.



Faculty/Staff: If you run into a problem with your notebook computer accessing BelleAire, please bring your computer to the Helpdesk, located in 123 Haggar Hall. A Helpdesk Consultant will be happy to assist you. The hours for the Helpdesk are posted on the Helpdesk web site.

Students: If you run into a problem with your notebook computer accessing BelleAire, please bring your computer to the ResNet Office, located in 102 Haggar Hall. A ResNet Computer Consultant (RCC) will be happy to assist you. The hours for the ResNet Office are posted on the ResNet web site.
