To configure your Windows 8 or Windows 8 Pro Edition computer to use DHCP on wireless:

  1. From the Desktop, move your cursor to the upper right corner of your screen to pull up the Charms bar.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select Control Panel. Go to the View by: setting and select Small icons if it has not already been set.
  4. Double-click on Network and Sharing Center.
  5. Click on Change adapter settings.
  6. Right-click on Wireless Network Connection. Select Properties.
  7. In the Wireless Network Connection Properties window, select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) by clicking on it once, then click on the Properties button.
  8. Make sure Obtain an IP Address automatically is selected.
  9. Make sure Obtain DNS server address automatically is selected.
  10. Click on the Advanced button.
  11. Click on the WINS tab.
  12. In the NetBIOS setting box, select Default (Use NetBios setting from the DHCP server).
  13. Click OK.
  14. Click OK in the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties window.
  15. Click OK in the Wireless Network Connection Properties window.
  16. You may be prompted to restart your computer. Please restart your computer now so the settings will take effect.

To configure your Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate Edition computer to use DHCP on wireless:

  1. Click on the Start button and select Control Panel. Go to the View by: setting and select Small icons if it has not already been set.
  2. Double-click on Network and Sharing Center.
  3. Click on Change adapter settings.
  4. Right-click on Wireless Network Connection. Select Properties.
  5. In the Wireless Network Connection Properties window, select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) by clicking on it once, then click on the Properties button.
  6. Make sure Obtain an IP Address automatically is selected.
  7. Make sure Obtain DNS server address automatically is selected.
  8. Click on the Advanced button.
  9. Click on the WINS tab.
  10. In the NetBIOS setting box, select Default (Use NetBios setting from the DHCP server).
  11. Click OK.
  12. Click OK in the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties window.
  13. Click OK in the Wireless Network Connection Properties window.
  14. You may be prompted to restart your computer. Please restart your computer now so the settings will take effect.

To configure your Windows Vista Business or Ultimate Edition computer to use DHCP on wireless:

  1. Click on the Start button and select Control Panel. Go to the View by: setting and select Small icons if it has not already been set.
  2. Double-click on Network and Sharing Center.
  3. Click on Manage network connections.
  4. Right-click on Wireless Network Connection. Select Properties.
  5. In the Wireless Network Connection Properties window, select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) by clicking on it once, then click on the Properties button.
  6. Make sure Obtain an IP Address automatically is selected.
  7. Make sure Obtain DNS server address automatically is selected.
  8. Click on the Advanced button.
  9. Click on the WINS tab.
  10. In the NetBIOS setting box, select Default (Use NetBios setting from the DHCP server).
  11. Click OK.
  12. Click OK in the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties window.
  13. Click OK in the Wireless Network Connection Properties window.

To configure your Windows XP Professional Edition computer to use DHCP on wireless:

  1. Click on the Start button and select Control Panel.
  2. Double-click on Network Connections.
  3. Double-click on Wireless Network Connection.
  4. Click on the Properties button at the bottom of the window.
  5. In the Wireless Network Connection Properties window, select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) by clicking on it once, then click on the Properties button.
  6. Make sure Obtain an IP Address automatically is selected.
  7. Make sure Obtain DNS server address automatically is selected.
  8. Click on the Advanced button.
  9. Click on the WINS tab.
  10. In the NetBIOS setting box, select Default (Use NetBios setting from the DHCP server).
  11. Click OK.
  12. Click OK in the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties window.
  13. Click OK in the Wireless Network Connection Properties window.
  14. You may be prompted to restart your computer. Please restart your computer now so the settings will take effect.
