When will my Saint Mary's College network account (for e-mail, fs1, mavis, PrintLimit, Blackboard, etc.) expire?
Expiration of network accounts
Students:
To help you transition from life as a Saint Mary's student to that of a college graduate, there is a helpful "Computing After ResNet" guide available on the ResNet website and at
www.saintmarys.edu/resnet/computingafterresnet.html.
This guide addresses popular questions regarding e-mail accounts, network drives, Microsoft Campus Agreement software, virus protection software, and how to get technical support after you have left campus.
Class of 2025 (graduating in May 2025) and later: Saint Mary’s will move alumnae accounts from full Google Workspace for Education accounts to Gmail Only User accounts on the December 1 following their graduation. Once the transition to Gmail Only User accounts is made, alumnae will only have access to their saintmarys.edu e-mail, calendar, contacts, and be able to join Google Meet sessions. Files saved on Google Drive and Google Photos cannot be recovered after this transition occurs.
For additional information, please visit
www.saintmarys.edu/resnet/googlealumnae.
Class of 2013 and graduates prior to May 2025: Saint Mary’s will move all alumnae accounts from full Google Workspace for Education accounts to Gmail Only User accounts on May 5, 2025. Once the transition to Gmail Only User accounts is made, alumnae will only have access to their saintmarys.edu e-mail, calendar, contacts, and be able to join Google Meet sessions. Files saved on Google Drive and Google Photos cannot be recovered after this transition occurs.
Any alumnae accounts without Google 2-Step Verification enabled by May 5, 2025, will be deleted.
Affected alumnae have been contacted via e-mail, text messages, and postcards to notify them of this change.
For additional information, please visit
www.saintmarys.edu/resnet/googlealumnae.
Class of 2012 and earlier: Prior to the migration to Google for e-mail, Saint Mary's College allowed alumnae to access their e-mail accounts for six months after they complete their degree requirements and graduate. Accounts typically expired on December 1 following May graduation. Access to those accounts is no longer available.
Staff/Administrators:
Saint Mary's College terminates the accounts of staff and administrators immediately
upon their leaving the College. This includes dismissal, resignation, and
retirement.
Information Technology will allow access to that account (e-mail, network drives,
etc.) to another individual in the department for a period of up to 90 days upon a
written request from the head of that department to the Helpdesk (helpdesk@saintmarys.edu).
Information Technology will forward the e-mail sent to that account to another
individual in the department for a period of up to one year upon a written request from the head
of the department to the Helpdesk (helpdesk@saintmarys.edu).
Faculty:
Saint Mary's College terminates the accounts of faculty immediately upon their
leaving the College due to resignation or dismissal.
Saint Mary's College allows faculty who retire from the College to retain their
network account (e-mail, network drives, etc.).
Retired faculty accounts that are inactive and/or not migrated to new systems when
requested by Information Technology can not be restored after the deadlines for such
projects have passed.
