    Saint Mary's students are responsible for checking their personal devices (computers, tablets, smartphones) for compatibility with Microsoft 365 for Students before installing the software.

    Saint Mary's students are responsible for checking their personal devices (computers, tablets, smartphones) to confirm the devices are compatible with any software they obtain or attempt to install.

    The Microsoft 365 software requirements are listed below, and students should also refer to their computer's documentation or manufacturer's website to confirm compatibility. The Microsoft website used to obtain the Microsoft 365 for Students software will also list the current system requirements for computers and mobile devices.

    Support for Windows 10 by ResNet will end on August 1, 2025. Support for Windows 10 by Microsoft will end on October 14, 2025.


    Microsoft 365 for Students - Mac

      macOS version 15 or later (includes Sequoia, Sonoma, and Ventura as of August 2025 - Ventura support will end when the next version of macOS is released)
      An Intel processor or M1/M2/M3/M4 processor
      At least 4GB RAM
      At least 10GB free space on hard drive,
      HFS+ hard disk format (also known as macOS Extended or HFS Plus) or APFS
      1280x800 or higher resolution monitor
      The current version of Safari, Chrome, or Firefox.

    Microsoft 365 for Students - Windows

      Windows 11 or Windows 10
      At least 2GHz processor or faster, 2-core
      At least 4GB RAM
      At least 4.0GB free space on hard drive
      1280x768 or higher resolution monitor
      Graphics hardware acceleration requires DirectX 9 or later, with WDDM 2.0 or higher for Windows 10 (or WDDM 1.3 or higher for Windows 10 Fall Creators Update)
      The current version of Microsoft Edge, Chrome, or Firefox.

    Microsoft 365 - iOS

      The Microsoft 365 apps for iPad and iPhone are supported on the two most recent versions of iOS and iPadOS. When a new version of iOS or iPadOS is released, the Office Operating System requirement becomes the two most recent versions: the new version of iOS or iPadOS and the previous version.

    Microsoft 365 - Android

      the Microsoft 365 apps for Android can be installed on tablets and phones running any of the supported versions of Android and have an ARM-based or Intel x86 processor. Support will be limited to only the last four major versions of Android.
      Android devices are not supported by ResNet, and assistance with Microsoft software on Android devices is limited.

    Office for Windows tablet

      Windows 10 or higher required

    Office for Chromebook

      You cannot install the Windows or Mac desktop versions of Microsoft 365 on a Chromebook.
      The Android versions of Office, Outlook, OneNote, and OneDrive are not currently supported on a Chromebook.
      Chromebooks are not supported by ResNet, and assistance with Microsoft Office on Chromebooks is not available.
