A List of Frequently Asked Questions about PRISM
What is PRISM?
PRISM is an acronym for Personal Records and Information for Saint Mary's.
How do I access PRISM?To access PRISM from both on and off campus:
The PRISM link on the @Home website will not allow you to access PRISM from off campus.
What is my PRISM User ID?The PRISM User ID is a 9 character ID.
The PIN is a password that you create. You may change your PIN at any time by logging in to PRISM and selecting the Personal Information menu.
When you reset your PIN, your pin must be at least 6 characters long and contain at least one digit. It may be a combination of characters and digits. If you change your PIN, you may not reuse a PIN for 180 days. PINs are case sensitive so be sure your Caps Lock key is not on.
What is my alternate PIN? (For current students only)An alternate PIN is an additional PIN assigned to students for online registration. Once you have logged into PRISM using your regular PIN and attempt to access online registration, you will be required to enter your alternate PIN before you can register. The alternate PIN cannot be used to log into PRISM.
Why do I get a message saying my account has been disabled?Your account will be disabled if you try to log in with the wrong PIN 5 times in a row. If this happens, your account must be reset before it is usable again. See below for whom to contact about resetting your PIN. If you fail to log in after 2 tries, please check that you are typing your ID and PIN correctly. PINs are case sensitive so be sure your Caps Lock key is not on.
What if I forgot my PIN?If you have successfully logged in before and set your security questions and your account is not disabled, you can use the Forgot PIN? button to reset your PIN. On the login page, enter your user ID and click on the Forgot PIN? button. You will need to answer your two security questions. Once you answer the security questions, you will be taken to a page where you can reset your PIN without waiting.
What should I do if my account is disabled or I cannot log in?You may need your account re-enabled or your PIN reset. Current students and employees may send a PIN reset request to helpdesk@saintmarys.edu from your Saint Mary's e-mail account. You will need to include your PRISM User ID in the message.
Your new PIN will be e-mailed to your Saint Mary's e-mail account (students and employees) or to the preferred e-mail address we have for you. The e-mail will be from BANNER@LISTS.saintmarys.edu. If we cannot e-mail the new PIN to you, a letter will be sent to your home address.
Please be aware that the Helpdesk is only staffed from 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday.
