In 1989 Professor Tyler was the first-ever recipient of the
European Holography Prize awarded by the City of Pulheim, Germany.

Above he poses with several members of German Parliament and
museum directors/curators who attended the award ceremony.
Several hundred persons attended the awards festivities (below) which
featured special musical performances and addresses by
several of the numerous dignitaries present.
