What is Office 365 ProPlus for Students, and how can I obtain a license for it? (For Graduate Students)
Beginning August 20, 2015, Saint Mary's College will offer Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus for Students for free to our students. Office 365 ProPlus offers full versions of Microsoft Office to be downloaded and installed on students' personally-owned computers. Versions of Office for mobile devices are also included with Office 365 ProPlus. After a license has been assigned, a Saint Mary’s student can install Office 365 ProPlus software on up to five personally-owned computers and five personally-owned mobile devices. There are no monthly subscription fees associated with the Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus for Students license.
You can install the Microsoft Office 365 software on up to five devices. Computers, iPhones and iPads, Android phones, Windows 8 and Windows RT tablets, and Windows phones are all devices eligible to have Microsoft Office 365 software installed.
Students are responsible for checking their personal devices (computers, tablets, smartphones) for compatibility with Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus for Students before installing the software. System requirements for Microsoft software for computers and mobile devices are available here.
Office 365 ProPlus for Students installs a full version of Microsoft Office when you install it locally on your computer. Current versions of Microsoft Office through Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus for Students are:
All Saint Mary's Students classifed as full-time or part-time are eligible for the Microsoft Campus Agreement and Office 365 software. Students who are enrolled at another institution as their primary location for studies (University of Notre Dame, Holy Cross College, Indiana University, Bethel College) are not eligible for this program. Saint Mary's alumnae and others who are not active students are not eligible for Microsoft Campus Agreement or Office 365 software.
Students can obtain a license for Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus for Students in person at the ResNet Office. Students must show their Saint Mary's ID card to verify their eligibility for this program and sign an agreement to obtain the license. The software can then be downloaded directly from Microsoft.
Graduate students participating in the Master of Science in Speech Pathology program at Saint Mary's College will be attending classes on campus and will need to obtain a license for Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus for Students in person at the ResNet Office.
Since we realize that not all students participating in the other graduate programs at Saint Mary's College will be on campus, the following steps can be taken by students in the Master of Science in Data Science and Doctorate of Nursing Practice programs to obtain a license for Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus for Students:Due to licensing restrictions, requests for Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus for Students software can only be accommodated once the incoming orientation session for your graduate program has started.
Licenses for Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus for Students are activated with Microsoft within one week of you completing the license agreement form.
The Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus for Students license will expire automatically 30 days after a student's active affiliation with Saint Mary’s College ends (this includes graduation). At expiration, the software will enter a reduced-functionality mode (files can be viewed but it will not be possible to edit or create new files) and the OneDrive associated with a student's Saint Mary’s account will no longer be accessible.

The ResNet Office is located at 113 Haggar College Center. The hours for the ResNet Office are posted at http://www.saintmarys.edu/resnet. ResNet can also be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org or 574-284-5319. The ResNet Office is not open during fall and spring breaks, midsemester and summer vacations, and other times during the academic year when classes are not in session.
