These short animations are
designed to be used in a classroom setting, but can also
be used individually by students to enhance the understanding of basic
principles. See the link above for more details.
I have
converted all animations to the GIF format (this precludes interaction) that
will run in both the Windows and Mac worlds. These are supplied both as raw
GIFs for your own applications and in short, self running
Power Points with accompanying instruction. The older True Basic, Windows only
animations have been discontinued since newer versions of Windows and the
current Mac OS have added difficulties to running the old software that can no
longer be repaired.
ENERGY FOR THE 21ST CENTURY COMPLETE COURSE
This is a 14 lesson course based on one I have taught often. Here the
target audience is more general so the amount of
physics and math has been reduced. The lessons are Office 365 Power Point Shows
which should run on most Windows and Mac computers. There are a number of embedded animations included in the set. The whole course was updated late in 2022.
THE PHYSICS OF MOTION
COMPLETE COURSE
This is a
semester of material aimed at a general student. There is a considerable amount
of Algebra involved, but those segments are mostly optional. The focus is on
the conceptual understanding. The course concentrates on motion since this is a
common phenomenon and experience for all students. The course examines ideas
about motion from Aristotle through Newton to Einstein. The Power Points used
include embedded GIF animations on many topics. The Power Points are self-running and should
display on both Windows and Mac machines.
MACINTOSH
Earlier
versions of my software were offered for both Windows and Macs but when Apple
went to System 10 my Mac versions no longer operated and my development
software was never updated. However, both of the full
courses and the new Animated Chalkboard software are offered in a Mac friendly format. Converting all the animation sequences
into the GIF format and embedding these in Power Point Shows (with appropriate
choice of fonts) should allow Mac users to use this newer software.
