CHICAGO, IL – The Saint Mary’s cross country team scored 266 points and placed ninth out of 21 teams on Saturday afternoon at the Sean Earl Invitational hosted by Loyola University. Leading the way for the Belles was Megan Gray who ran the 5K course in 19:02 in placing ninth overall in the individual race with 286 runners.
The event was won by Missouri Southern with a score of 32 while Kimi Shank, also from Missouri Southern, placed first among the individuals with a time of 18:02.
In addition to Gray, all of the Belles scoring runners placed in the top 80 overall. Samantha Wieczorek posted a time of 20:22 while Megan McClowry ran the course in 20:48 as they ran second and third among Saint Mary’s runners. Rounding out the scoring runners for the Belles was Catie Salyer (20:54) and Olenka Bilyk (21:11).
