Softball - Saint Mary's Places Three on All-Region Team

Kristin Amram, Sarah Miesle and Ashley Peterson were all named the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III Central Region team. The region includes 44 schools from the Ohio Athletic, Heartland, North Coast, President’s and the Michigan Intercollegiate conferences.
Amram garnered second-team honors at the pitcher position while Miesle and Peterson were both at-large selections on the third-team.

Softball - Three Belles Earn MIAA All League Honors

Kristin Amram, Sarah Miesle and Katie Rashid each received MIAA honors which were announced on Tuesday afternoon. Amram was given First-Team accolades while Miesle and Rashid were named to the league’s Second-Team.
The voting for the league awards is done by the nine coaches in the conference and is based on games against MIAA foes.

Softball - Belles Bow Out of MIAA Tournament

The fourth-seed Saint Mary’s Belles lost both of their games on Thursday afternoon at the MIAA Tournament. The first game of the day saw Alma recorded a 3-0 victory which sent the Belles to the consolation bracket were second-seeded Hope ended Saint Mary’s season with a 6-1 victory.
The Belles end their season with a 25-9 record.

Softball - Belles Sweep Adrian; Advance to Tournament

The Saint Mary’s softball team ended the 2007 regular season by posting 5-3 and 10-3 wins over Adrian Monday afternoon.
With the two victories the Belles are one of four teams to advance to the league’s post-season tournament. The Belles will enter the tournament, which begins on Thursday, as the fourth-seed and will play the top-seed and host Alma. Also advancing to the double elimination tournament are Tri-State and Hope.

Softball - Amram is MIAA Pitcher of the Week, Again

For the second consecutive week sophomore pitcher Kristin Amram has been named the MIAA softball Pitcher of the Week after picking up three wins on the mound in three starts. In the three games she tallied 20 innings, struck out 31 and allowed 13 hits.
It is the second time this season and the fourth time in her career she has received the weekly accolade.

Softball - Saint Mary's Sweeps Hornets; Amram's No-No

In the final homes games of the 2007 season, Saint Mary’s posted 10-2 and 2-0 wins over Kalamazoo in MIAA softball action. During the second game, Kristin Amram tossed her third career no-hitter.
The wins lifts the Belles record to 23-7 overall and 8-6 in league play while Kalamazoo falls to 4-21 and 1-13 respectively.

Softball - Hope, Saint Mary's Claim Wins in DH
(April 27) |
Both Saint Mary’s and Hope each took a game in an MIAA doubleheader Friday afternoon at a soggy SMC Softball field. Hope took game one 6-5 while the Belles came back to win the nightcap 7-6.
Saint Mary’s record now stands at 21-7 overall and 6-6 in league play while Hope holds marks of 23-10 and 11-3 respectively.

Softball - Belles Sweep Doubleheader from Albion
(April 24) |
Saint Mary’s posted two big late inning scoring spurts in each game to post an MIAA doubleheader sweep against Albion. The Belles won the first game 5-3 and then recorded a 14-1 victory in the nightcap.
The wins lift the Belles record to 20-6 overall and 5-5 in league play while Albion falls to 10-22 and 3-9 respectively.

Softball - Amram Named MIAA Pitcher of the Week

Sophomore pitcher Kristin Amram has been named the MIAA softball Pitcher of the Week after picking up two wins on the mound in three starts last week. It is the third time in her career she has been given the weekly honor.
Amram allowed only two earned runs in 17 innings of work while striking out 27 and surrendering eights hits.
