Soccer - Belles, Olivet Play to 0-0 Deadlock
(September 29)

Saint Mary’s and Olivet competed for 110 minutes in a contest that ended with a 0-0 score on Saturday afternoon in an MIAA women’s soccer match.

It is the third time this season Saint Mary’s has played to a 0-0 draw. The Belles also have a six game unbeaten streak going, posting a 2-0-4 mark in those games.

Soccer - Saint Mary's, Albion Battle to 1-1 Draw
(September 25)

Katie Mills scored what proved to be the equalizing goal in the 57th minute as Albion rallied to tie Saint Mary’s 1-1 Tuesday afternoon in MIAA soccer action.

Saint Mary’s record now stands at 5-1-3 and 1-0-1 in league play while Albion moves to 7-1-2 and 1-0-1 respectively.

Soccer - Belles Sweep Weekly MIAA Honors
(September 23)

Justine Higgins was named the MIAA Offensive Player of the Week while teammate Bridget Ronayne was honored as the league’s Defensive Player of the Week as the Belles tied North Central last Sunday 0-0 then opened MIAA play with a 2-1 victory over Kalamazoo this past Saturday.

Soccer -Two Second Half Goals Lift Saint Mary's
(September 21)

The Saint Mary’s soccer team scored two goals in the final 13 minutes of the game to post a 2-1 victory over Kalamazoo, Saturday in the MIAA opener for both teams.

Soccer - Belles Claim Title with Shootout Victory
(September 16)

After playing for 110 minutes, the Saint Mary’s and North Central soccer teams fought to a 0-0 tie. Although the game official ends in a tie, the Belles won the Sal Vaccaro Invitational over the hosts with a 5-3 victory in a shootout.

The Belles record now stands at 4-1-2 while North Central moves to 3-2-1. The tournament win also gives the Belles their second tournament championships of the season after claiming the Case Western Tournament title the first weekend of September.

Soccer -Durkin Scores Two Goals in Belles Victory
(September 15)

Sophomore Katy Durkin scored the first two goals of her collegiate career in helping Saint Mary’s to a 3-0 win over Mount Mercy at the Sal Vaccaro Invitational hosted by North Central College.

Durkin scored the first of her two goals in the 56th minute before coming back less than 15 minutes later with a goal off a Jessica Slean assist in the 68th minute.

Soccer - Saint Mary's, Calvin Compete to 0-0 Draw
(September 12)

In the second home match of the season, Saint Mary’s and Calvin competed for 90 minutes in a contest that ended with a 0-0 score on Wednesday afternoon.

Amy Mahoney made five saves for the Belles in posting her third shutout of the season while Calvin goalie Kayla Sulzer recorded one save to record her first shutout of the year.

Soccer - Belles Drop First Contest of 2007
(September 8)

The Saint Mary’s soccer team dropped their first match of the season with a 3-1 loss to Hope College on Saturday afternoon.

The loss puts the Belles record at 3-1 while Hope evens its mark to 2-2. Hope held a 21-10 edge in overall shots and a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Soccer - Victory at Case Western Tournament
(September 2)

With their 3-0 win over Lawrence University Sunday afternoon, the Saint Mary’s soccer team won the Case Western Reserve Tournament Championship.

On Saturday the Belles beat the host Spartans 2-1 en route to claiming the two-day, three-team tournament.

Athletics - Stancukas Recieves Arthur Ashe Honor
(April 6)

Mary Stancukas was honored as an Arthur Ashe Sports Scholar in both soccer and swimming. She earned third-team honors in soccer while garnering first-team accolades in swimming.

She was one of 54 different soccer players who were given the honor and was one of only 15 separate swimmers to earn the accolade.
