Belles Finish Fifth; McDavitt Earns MIAA Honors

KALAMAZOO, MI -- The Saint Mary's tennis team finished the 2007 with a fifth place finish at the season ending MIAA tournament.

The Belles, who entered the tournament as the fourth seed, lost their opening round match to Calvin 5-2 (Results).

In the consolation bracket Saint Mary's fought back to post a 5-1 win over Alma (Results).

During the last match of the season, the Belles took a 7-2 decision over Olivet to finish the tournament in fifth place. (Results)

For her efforts over the entire season, Kelly McDavitt was named to the MIAA First-Team. The senior posted a 6-2 record during regular season league matches at the No. 1 singles spot while teaming with Camille Gebert to post a 7-1 mark in doubles at the No. 1 doulbles spot.
