angelalayman
Angela Layman is in her fifth year in charge of the Saint Mary’s cheerleaders. She was drawn to Saint Mary’s for the opportunity to experience coaching on the college level. She inherited a fairly new program, but since her arrival the squad has received campus wide recognition. Layman came to Saint Mary’s with a strong background in cheer. She started her cheerleading career locally at Mishawaka High School and then continued on at Ball State University for four years where she earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in counseling and clinical psychology. Her coaching career began over 18 years ago when she started coaching middle school and since 1998 she has also been coaching at Mishawaka High School where she is a regular substitute teacher. She is ecstatic that Saint Mary’s has an established cheerleading program that has given deserving girls the opportunity to pursue their athletic talents at the collegiate level. |
