Saint Mary's Takes Two to Open 2007 Home Season

NOTRE DAME, IN – Saint Mary’s opened their home portion of their schedule by sweeping a doubleheader from Rose-Hulman 10-1 and 5-0 Sunday afternoon in non-conference softball action.
The wins lift the Belles record to 11-1 while Rose-Hulman falls to 7-9.
In the opening game Sarah Miesle paced the Belles offense by going 3-for-3 with a single, double and homerun. The senior drove in three runs and scored three as well. Ashley Fusaro went 2-for-3 with three RBI’s and scored two runs.
Calli Davison struck out five to up her record to 6-0 on the mound in a game shorten to five innings because of the eight-run mercy rule.
Miesle provided all the offense that Saint Mary’s needed in the second game when she hit a grand slam in the first inning as Kristin Amram struck out 13 and allowed just three hits while walking one. Amram improved her record to 5-1.
The Belles combined to score 15 total runs and bang out 22 hits in the two games.
