Saint Mary's Takes Two to Open 2007 Season

FT. MYERS – The Saint Mary’s softball team posted a pair of victories on Sunday afternoon in their first action of the 2007 season. They took a 3-1 decision over Montclair State late in the afternoon before knocking off Mount Ida 13-4 during the evening.
In the win over Montclair State, Kristin Amram gave up just two hits and struck out nine while Ashley Peterson went 1-for-3 with 2 RBI’s during the victory. In addition, Ashley Fusaro belted a the first pitch she saw of the season for a homerun.
Laura Heline went 1-for-2 with a run scored to aid in the win.
During the second game Calli Davison went 2-for-4 with an RBI and run scored while striking out six and giving up just two hits in the win over Montclair State.
Sarah Miesle drove in two runs and scored two more during a 1-for-4 performance. Heline posted a three RBI night while Katie Rashid drove in two more during the winning effort.
