Saint Mary's Posts Victory Against Alma

ALMA, MI – Saint Mary’s won eight of the 13 events contested in posting a 130-103 win over Alma in an MIAA dual meet on Saturday afternoon.

Leading the charge for the Belles was Lindsey Nelis, Melissa Gerbeth and Sara Nieman who each won two individual events.

Nelis posted victory in the 200 yard freestyle (2:04.12) and the 500 yard freestyle (5:38.19) events. Gerbeth, a Penn HS graduate, notched wins in the 1000 yard freestyle (11:25.73) and 200 yard IM (2:22.04) for Saint Mary’s. Nieman had victories in the 200-yard backstroke (2:22.75) and 50-yard freestyle (0:27.08).

The conference victory is the first for the Belles since the 2004-2005 season.
