Calvin Claims 129-86 Victory Against Saint Mary's

SOUTH BEND, IN – Calvin posted a 129-86 win over Saint Mary’s on Friday evening in MIAA swimming action at Washington High School. Calvin won seven of the 11 swimming events in claiming the victory.

Calvin had six different swimmers win individual events in addition to claiming the 200 yard medley relay event. Erica Deur won the 1 meter diving competition with a score of 414.60.

The Belles got a stellar effort from Sara Niemann who won the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 26.95. Niemann also claimed an individual event win by swimming the 100 yard backstroke in 1:07.13 just edging out Calvin’s Julie Wolfe by :00.09.

Melissa Gerbeth won the 1000 yard freestyle posting a time of 11:03.88. Kelly Tighe posted a time of 1:16.22 in the 100 yard breaststroke.

The Saint Mary’s relay team of Gerbeth, Niemann, Jennifer Lebiedz and Lindsay Nelis won the 800 yard freestyle relay with a time of 8:31.99.
