Saint Mary's Finishes 6th at DePauw Invitational

The Saint Mary’s swimming team finished sixth out of 10 teams with 258 points at the DePauw Invitational. DePauw won the event with 765 points.
Melissa Gerbeth had one of the top meets in terms of individual swimmers. She tallied 48 of the Belles points by herself. The sophomore won the individual crown in the 1650 yard freestyle, finishing in 18:21.12. Gerbeth finished second in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:22.69. She also placed 11 th in the 200 yard freestyle event (2:04.21).
Along with Gerbeth, Sara Niemann had a fine weekend by tallying 22 total Saint Mary’s team points. Lindsey Nelis (13) and Kayla Ferguson (10) also aided in the Belles effort during the two-day event by recording double figure team point totals.
