The Saint Mary's volleyball club, the VolleyBelles, began their first year as a recognized club team during the 2004/2005 academic year.
Eleven women make up the squad that is a member of the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) which is a non-profit organization that sponsors recreational opportunities for its members.
Within NIRSA, the VolleyBelles will be travelling to other member schools to participate in approximately one weekend tournament a month, from November through April.
The team practices two to three times per week beginning in late October and continues through the end of the season in April.
As with most club teams, membership dues are necessary to assist with tournament fees, travel expenses, and uniforms.
