Calvin's Strong Hitting Leads to Victory

The 24th ranked Calvin Knights tallied a .300 hitting percentage as they posted a 3-0 win (30-21, 30-23, 30-20) over Saint Mary’s Friday evening in MIAA women’s volleyball action.

The win lifts Calvin’s record to 13-1 overall and 6-0 in MIAA play while the Belles fall to 10-3 and 3-2 respectively.

Calvin was led by Kristen Kalb who posted 14 kills with a .344 hitting percentage on 32 swings. Katy Luimes notched 13 kills with a .385 success rate on her 26 swings. Lorilyn Vogel and Molly Krikke each recorded 11 kills to round out the double figure kill producers for the visitors. Setter Katie Zondervan posted a double-double with 44 assists and 16 digs. The Knights Libero, Lauren DeGroot, had a match high 22 digs.

For the Belles Lorna Slupczysnki had a team best nine kills to go along with 10 digs. Anne Cusack and Kristen each posted double digit digs with 19 and 13 respectively.
