Saint Mary's Knocks Off Kalamazoo 3-0

Kristen Playko posted a match high 10 kills to go along with her 25 digs in leading the Saint Mary’s to a 3-0 (30-19, 30-20, 30-28) win over Kalamazoo on Thursday evening at the Anderson Athletic Center.

The Belles up their record to 15-8 overall and 8-6 in MIAA play while Kalamazoo falls to 8-14 and 4-9 respectively.

In a match were the Belles fell behind early in each game, including 11-2 in the third game, they used timely serving and took advantage of critical errors by the Hornets in posting the sweep. Saint Mary’s tallied eight services aces while holding Kalamazoo to a .091 hitting percentage.

Anne Cusack notched a match high 26 digs in the win. Kaela Hellmann chipped in a fine offensive performance with seven kills on 14 attempts and no errors in posting a .500 hitting percentage.
