Saint Mary's stats vs. Tri-State

ANGOLA -- The Saint Mary's volleyball squad started the season with back-to-back wins over Albion and Tri-State during the first day of the Thunder Invitational hosted by Tri-State.

In the opener against Albion, the Belles overcame a 2-1 match deficit to post a five-game victory over the Brittons by scores of 30-16, 27-30, 17-30, 30-10, 15-6.

During the second mach of the day, Saint Mary's posted a 3-1 (30-20, 31-33, 30-19, 30-28) victory over the Thunder.

Over the two matches a host of Belles players contributed to the cause. Kristen Playko posted 32 kills while Lorna Slupczynski (23) and Cathy Kurczak (22) each posted more than 20 kills during the two matches.

Defensively for Saint Mary's Anne Cusack posted a team 42 digs over the nine games the Belles played on Friday.
