Saint Mary's Finishes Fourth in Monmouth Invitational
MONMOUTH, IL – The Saint Mary’s volleyball team opened the 2007 season with a fourth-place finish at the Monmouth College Volleyball Invitational.
The Belles opened pool play with a 3-0 (30-25, 30-24, 30-18) victory over Robert Morris but fell to Loras in their final match of pool play 3-1 (21-30, 30-17, 30-24, 30-25).
In the consolation final the Belles once again took the opening game of the match but dropped the next three games in losing to the host Scots 3-1 (20-30, 30-27, 30-26, 30-19).
For her efforts in the three matches, sophomore Lorna Slupczynski was named to the all-tournament team.
