Belles Stand in 14th After Day One

BIG RAPIDS, MI – After firing a 356 first round on Saturday afternoon at the Ferris State Invitational, the Saint Mary’s golf team stands in 14 th place in the 18 team two-day season opening event.

Katie O’Brien fired a team best 87 while teammate Emily Gore tallied an 88 to lead the Saint Mary’s charge. Amanda Blackstone shot a 90 while Megan Lehr and Perri Hamma each knotted a 91 to round out the Belles scorers.

Indianapolis University leads the event after shooting a 302 as a team. Kristi Piepenbrink fired a 72 for Indianapolis and she leads all individual scorers.

The event concludes on Sunday afternoon.
