Albion used a goal midway through the second half to post a 2-1 victory over Saint Mary’s Wednesday afternoon in the home opener for the Belles.

The win lifts Albion’s record to 3-0 while the Belles fall to 0-1.

The Britons got on the board first when Danielle Shepard rocketed a shot from seven yards out in the eighth minute off a feed from Allison Oatley. The Belles responded in the 21 st minute when Lauren Hinton blasted a shot past Albion goalie Emily Heddon from 10 yards out.

Oatley provided the game winning goal with just over 20 minutes left in the contest when she knocked the ball past Belles goalie Laura Heline off a deflection.

Albion held a slight edge in total shots 14-10 with Oatley tallying a team high five for the Britons.
