Basketball - Belles Post Top 25 Academic Finish

The Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced its 2006-07 Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll and Saint Mary’s was among the honorees.
The Belles, who had one of its most successful seasons on the court with a 10-6 MIAA record while qualifying for the conference semifinals for the first time, was equally as successful in the classroom. The squad ranked 18th in all of Division III with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.411 for the past academic year.

Basketball - Kessler Earns Great Lakes Region Honors

Alison Kessler was named to the d3hoops.com Great Lakes Region Second-Team. In the six year history of the all-region team, it is the first time a Saint Mary’s player has been named to the squad that is voted on by the region’s Sports Information Directors.
The region is made of schools in the Heartland Athletic, Ohio Athletic, Northcoast Collegiate, Alleghany Mountain Athletic, President Athletic and Michigan Intercollegiate conferences.

Basketball - Three Belles Earn MIAA Honors

For the second consecutive season Alison Kessler was named to MIAA’s first-team while teammates Bridget Lipke and Erin Newsom were picked for the league’s second-team.
Saint Mary’s posted a 10-6 mark during league play; the best single season record in school history since officially joining the league during the 1998-99 season. The squad also qualified for the MIAA semifinals for the first time.

Basketball - #5 Hope Ends Saint Mary's Season

Ellen Wood scored a season high 23 points while grabbing 10 rebounds in leading Hope to a 71-52 win over Saint Mary’s in the semifinals of the MIAA tournament Thursday evening at the Devos Fieldhouse.
Alison Kessler and Erin Newsom each scored a team high 13 points to lead the Belles efforts. Bridget Lipke posted 11 points and six assists in her final game.

Basketball - Belles Reach Out to Elementary School

During the winter break at Saint Mary's the basketball team took a few hours of their day on Jan. 11 to read to student at Tarkington School in South Bend.
