OLIVET, MI – Saint Mary’s scored two second half goals to knock off Olivet 3-2 Saturday afternoon in women’s MIAA soccer action.
The win lifts the Belles record to 4-6 overall and 3-1 in league play while Olivet falls to 3-6-2 and 1-1-2 respectively.
Ashley Hinton opened the scoring when she scored her fifth goal of the season in the 29 th minute. However the Comets responded in the 32 nd minute when Megan Reardon tallied her first goal of the year off a Kristin Dickinson assist.
Dickinson broke the 1-1 deadlock early in the second period with a blast from the left side in the 49 th minute. Colleen Courtney scored her first goal of the season in the 65 th minute to tie the score at 2-2. Hinton scored the game winner with just under 16 minutes left in the game when she lobbed a shot over Olivet goalie Shane Brady from 30-yards out.
The Belles posted a 14-12 edge in overall shots in the victory.
