Saint Mary's, Olivet Play to 0-0 Draw

NOTRE DAME, IN – Saint Mary’s and Olivet competed for 110 minutes in a contest that ended with a 0-0 score on Saturday afternoon in an MIAA women’s soccer match.
It is the third time this season Saint Mary’s has played to a 0-0 draw. The Belles also have a six game unbeaten streak going, posting a 2-0-4 mark in those games.
The Belles record now stands at 5-1-4 overall and 1-0-2 in MIAA action while Olivet moves to 5-4-2 and 0-2-1 respectively.
Saint Mary’s had an opportunity to get on the board late in the first-half but Bridget Ronayne’s penalty kick in the 42nd minute was saved by Olivet goalie Sarah Weston. The Belles had another golden chance late in the second half when Lauren Hinton’s shot was tipped off the crossbar by Weston and the ricochet went right to Julia Gragtmans but her header was also saved by Weston in the 87th minute.
Amy Mahoney made six saves for the Belles in posting her fifth shutout of the season while Weston recorded 12 saves to record her first complete game shutout of the year.
The Belles posted a 12-6 edge in shots on goal and a 7-1 advantage in corner kicks.
