CLEVELAND, OH – A Whitney Fron goal with just over five minutes left in the contest proved to be the game winner as Saint Mary’s knocked off Case Western 2-1 to open the 2007 season.

Lauren Hinton opened the scoring for the Belles with a goal in the 14th minute when she blasted the ball past Kirsten McClain. The goal looked to be the game winner until Kaitlyn Yule tied the game in the 83rd minute. However, the Spartans momentum was quickly halted by Fron’s goal just over two minutes later.

Amy Mahoney made three saves in posting the win in goal.
