Belles Split at Rockford

ROCKFORD, IL – The Saint Mary’s softball team split a doubleheader with Rockford College on Sunday, dropping the opening contest 3-0 before bouncing back to defeat the hosts 7-1.
In the first game, Rockford capitalized on defensive miscues by the Belles to get the 1-0 lead in the third inning. The Regents would then add to their lead in the sixth inning, pushing their advantage to 3-0. The Belles were held to only one hit on offense, which came when freshman Calli Davison singled in the fourth inning.
The Belles found their bats and capitalized on errors in the second game, claiming the 7-1 victory. The offense was paced by senior Audrey Gajor and sophomore McKenna Corrigan, who both had two hits for the Belles. The offense was more than enough for freshman pitcher Krisin Amram, who struck out 13, walked none, and allowed only three hits en route to her 10 th win of the season.
