Belles Finish 15th at IWU Fall Classic

NORMAL, IL – The Saint Mary’s golf squad fired a second round 333 en route to finishing 15th in the 21 team field at the Illinois Wesleyan Fall Classic. The Belles had entered the round in 17th after Saturday’s first round score of 355.

Katie O’Brien led the way once again for the Belles firing an 84 on the first day of the event before firing a 74 in the final round to finish tied for 13 th among all individuals with a 158 (+14). Her Sunday score of 74 is the second best single round score in Saint Mary’s history tying her with Stefanie Simmerman who shot a round in the 74 twice in her career as a Belle.

Michelle Hird fired a two round total of 173 (+29) for the second best individual finish for Saint Mary’s. Rosie O’Conner totaled a 176 (+32) while Meredith Fantom (183, +39) and Emily Gore (184, +40) were also among the top finishers for the Belles.
