Belles Place Second at MIAA Jamboree

ANGOLA, IN – Katie O’Brien led a Saint Mary’s charge by posting a 78 in helping the Belles finish second in the second of three MIAA Jamborees during the fall golf season. The event took place at Zollar Golf Course on the campus of Tri-State.
This afternoon Jamboree was the second of three in helping to determine the MIAA Champion. The season concludes at the league Championships on Oct. 5-6 in Battle Creek, MI. The five total rounds will determine the league champion. Through the two Jamborees thus far, the Belles are just 14 total shots behind first-place Olivet.
Saint Mary’s fired a 333 as a team while Olivet took top team honors with a 329. O’Brien posted the best individual score besting Hope’s Julie Hoogerhyde score of 81. It is second straight Jamboree O’Brien has claimed medalist honors.
In addition to O’Brien’s effort for the Belles, Amanda Mainstone fired an 83 while Emily Gore tallied an 85. Rosie O’Conner (87) and Megan Lehr (93) rounded out the scorers for the Belles.
Competing as individuals, Meredith Fantom shot an 85 while Michelle Hird and Perri Hamma each played sub-90 rounds firing scores of 87 and 88 respectively.
