Belles Place Fourth at Final MIAA Jamboree

ALMA, MI – Katie O’Brien led a Saint Mary’s charge by posting a 84 in helping the Belles finish fourth in the final MIAA Jamborees during the fall golf season. The event took place at Buck Run Golf Course.
The Jamboree was the final of three Jamborees in helping to determine the MIAA Champion. The season concludes at the league Championships on Oct. 5-6 in Battle Creek, MI. The five total rounds will determine the league champion. Through the three Jamborees thus far, the Belles are 41 total shots behind first-place Olivet.
Saint Mary’s fired a 351 as a team while Olivet took top team honors with a 324. O’Brien finished tied for sixth overall as Hope’s Julie Hoogerhyde took medalist honors for the day with a 74.
In addition to O’Brien’s effort for the Belles, Emily Gore fired an 86 while Rosie O’ Conner tallied an 89. Michelle Hird (92) and Amanda Mainstine (97) rounded out the scorers for the Belles.
Competing as individuals, Meredith Fantom shot an 85 while Meghan Lehr and Perri Hamma fired scores of 87 and 94 respectively.
